If You Lived Here... is a participatory public art project and visual survey located in Oppenheimer Park that asks: Do you live in this neighbourhood? Have you or your ancestors lived here? If so, where? And finally, where do you live now? The project honours past and present residents of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside (DTES) and the intersecting social narratives of displacement of Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil Waututh - Coast Salish First Nations and Japanese Canadian communities. The project in name, refers to the interventionist work of Martha Rosler (former teacher of the artist), but in practice, honors the feminist and conceptual art practices originating in communities of color that stimulate social change.
