What does a word like “belong” mean in a city, state or nation which increasingly discriminates between who is welcome and who is not? For IDEAS! sensory + social space — a month of co-curated ideas, experiences, and installations at the former Out of Town News Kiosk in Harvard Square, Cambridge — the artist worked with design students to explore the materiality and democracy of public space, social (un)commons, and the assumptions of belonging.
